About Abigail Hahn, MD

Board-Certified Psychiatrist

I was born in Seoul, Korea and I grew up embracing cultural differences at young age. Due to my father’s job, our family moved often and I was raised in diverse cultures such as those of Iraq and India. When our family immigrated to the United States, we experienced our share of difficulties as immigrants, and I found myself driven to help my family and others in need. I attended the University of Virginia for my undergraduate degree and then Medical College of Wisconsin for my medical degree. I discovered during my medical training that I loved to listen to other people’s stories, enjoyed getting to know whole person throughout treatment, and I was naturally drawn to the field of psychiatry. I graduated from the joint military and civilian program in general psychiatry at UT Health San Antonio with my husband, who is also a psychiatrist in the US Air Force. Since then, we have been stationed at several different US Air Force bases.

While stationed in Oklahoma, I had the opportunity to work at OU Health Edmond Medical Center, where I treated patients with substance use disorders on the medical floor (primarily alcohol), geriatric patients in Intensive Outpatient Programs, as well as the general adult population in community outpatient clinics. I particularly enjoyed helping geriatric patients navigate complex medical-psychiatric management issues, reduce polypharmacy, and work through family dynamics during transitions to different stages of life. My training background also includes patient care in inpatient settings, specialty outpatient clinics, work with military members and veterans, and training in psychotherapy. I believe every patient is unique. I truly enjoy the process to get to know the whole person, honoring diverse backgrounds, and I strive to create a collaborative treatment plan that caters to individual preferences while adhering to evidence-based medicine.

Currently, I reside in Colorado with my husband, my three boys and elderly dog.
