Phone Consultation
Establishing care begins with a phone call during which we can discuss your treatment concerns, my services, answer any questions you may have, and determine if we would like to work together.

Initial Evaluation
During our initial appointment we will conduct a thorough psychiatric evaluation and discuss your mental health concerns and treatment goals. We will review any prior mental health treatment, family history, and significant life events. Depending on the complexity of your history and concerns, it may take 2-3 visits to complete the evaluation and begin working on treatment. At the end of the evaluation we will discuss diagnoses and begin to formulate a treatment plan collaboratively.

Standard Follow-up
An appointment to monitor progress towards goals, share successes or barriers with treatment, and collaboratively decide on any adjustments to medications or behavioral goals. We may meet once every 2-12 weeks depending on treatment goals and needs.

Extended Follow-up
An extended appointment to allow for more in-depth discussion of mental health concerns, progress towards goals, and incorporation of behavioral and/or lifestyle approaches into care.

Information on payment for services
Dr. Pokorny is in network with Aetna and United health plans.
Dr. Pokorny is out-of-network with all other insurances. Payment for services is accepted via all major credit cards and/or HSA or FSA card. An invoice, known as a superbill, may be provided upon request to submit to insurance for partial out-of-network reimbursement. For more information, please see Policies.
